BUCO started in 2020 with Liam Hesp, Colin Potgieter and a van. Five years on, we're a team of nearly 70 — licensed builders, site managers, estimators, foremen, admin and specialist subcontractors, working across residential, commercial, insurance, remedial and maintenance projects throughout the Bay of Plenty.

The people behind the company are the reason it works. Liam and Colin are hands-on directors who are still on the tools and on sites every week, not behind a desk. Our site managers own their projects from day one. Our estimators price straight. Our office team pick up the phone. It's a culture we've built deliberately, one person at a time — and it's the reason our clients and our subcontractors keep coming back.

    Liam Hesp

    Director / LBP / MNZIOB

    Co-founder and the driving force behind BUCO's growth from a two-man operation to a nearly-70-strong construction business in five years. Liam owns company-wide operations, client relationships, systems and health and safety, and is Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) qualified. Most BUCO clients still deal with Liam personally — because he still wants it that way.

    Colin Potgieter

    DIRECTOR / QS NZIQS (Affil)

    Co-founder and head of BUCO's commercial team, Colin runs every major contract, cost structure and price BUCO puts in front of a client. An experienced Quantity Surveyor with over a decade in the industry, he's the reason our pricing is precise, transparent and defensible — the numbers that let clients plan, fund and deliver their projects with certainty.

    Lee Clark

    Construction Delivery Manager

    Lee is BUCO’s Construction Delivery Manager, leading our Labour Only & Sub-Contract Works and Commercial Construction service lines. He brings scope, programme, crews and quality together to keep projects moving from planning through to handover. Main contractors, developers and commercial property owners get an experienced delivery lead who takes ownership, communicates clearly and keeps our team focused on getting the job done right.

    Lisa Savage

    QS & Business Operations Manager

    Lisa is BUCO’s QS & Business Operations Manager, overseeing pricing, contracts, payment claims, variations, accounts receivable and payable, forecasting and reporting. She keeps project finances, administration and day-to-day business operations running smoothly, supporting our delivery teams and giving clients clear, timely information. Her attention to detail keeps costs visible, paperwork moving and everyone informed from initial pricing through to final account.

    Project Operations Manager

    Stacey runs BUCO’s operations, overseeing project setups, paperwork, HR and the day-to-day coordination that keeps our people and projects moving. From onboarding team members to keeping project documentation organised, he makes sure our crews have what they need to get to work. His practical approach gives clients a well-organised team, clear communication and consistent support throughout their project.
